The 1st grade classroom has a setting where every child is respected and loved. Each child deserves kindness and will have opportunities to grow and be nurtured with care. As a teacher, it is very important for students to have a safe and happy environment in which to learn. With clear expectations and correct follow through, every student can work to be their best. Every child is a unique gift and can learn more than one way. First graders will explore various subject areas such as Math, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, Religion, and Language. First graders spend a lot of time learning about the world of reading and how wonderful and exciting books can be. Books are explored through class and individual projects. In first grade, respect and learning coincide. First graders strive to be their best, and as a result, mature and grow wonderfully with each other every year.
